Becoming an AFS Host Family.

Hosting a high school student from another country can be a wonderful experience. AFS is unique among student exchange organizations because of the care we take with the student/family placement process and the ongoing support we provide throughout the hosting period. With AFS, individuals cannot merely "sign-up" to host. We are serious about "promoting world peace one friendship at a time," and this begins with good family placements. Prospective families are interviewed by local AFS volunteers in a time-tested screening process. The results are almost always great matches between students and families.

Becoming an AFS Student.

Have you ever dreamed of living in a foreign country for 3,6, or 11 months? Well, AFS students live those dreams. 10,000 students are placed worldwide by AFS into homes and commun- ities which they grow to love as their very own. You should know from the start that AFS is a unique exchange organization. Over 100,000 volunteers across the globe work hard to make sure students are placed with families that share common interests, backgrounds, and lifestyles. AFS volunteers are trained to make careful, compatible placements and are ALWAYS there to support you. This is a VERY IMPORTANT fact about AFS. If you are interested in this program, contact your local AFS chapter representative or send an e-mail message via our Webmaster.
